The high mountains - Climbing peaks in Ecuador

Ecuador is the dream country for trekking, hiking, expeditions, and mountain climbing.
The mountains are incredibly accessible — roads reach up to 4,800 m, and the Whymper refuge, at 5,000 m, is the highest in the world — making it possible to accomplish several beautiful climbs in a relatively short time.
The many volcanoes reaching nearly 6,000 m will delight both seasoned mountaineers and beginners alike…

Altitude plays a crucial role, and good acclimatization is essential for the success of your high-mountain program.

In Ecuador, along the Andes mountain range, rise some of the most impressive volcanoes: Cayambe, crossed by the equator; Sangay, one of the most active volcanoes in the world; the snow-covered peaks of Antisana; the nearly perfect cone of Cotopaxi (the highest active volcano in the world at 5,897 m); the majestic Altar massif; and the colossal Chimborazo, towering at 6,310 meters above sea level over the Andean highlands.
