Climbing of a volcano (6268 m) – Acclimatization required

Chimborazo Volcano is the highest summit in Ecuador and also the point on Earth closest to the Sun due to its location near the equatorial line. It is located about 4.5 hours by road south of Quito, in the Western Cordillera, 35 minutes from the city of Riobamba, and is part of the Chimborazo Wildlife Production Reserve. It is a unique site in Ecuador where vicuñas can be observed in their natural habitat.
Depending on the time of ascent, Chimborazo can become technical and challenging, with hard ice instead of snow, so a minimum level of experience is required to climb it. You should allow between 10 and 12 hours of hiking round trip.
A great and beautiful challenge!
