Trekking Isinlivi - Quilotoa

Located 4 hours southwest of Quito, in the western Andes mountain range, the Quilotoa region is made up of small communities that live mainly from agriculture. We invite you to discover their way of life during a 5-day trek, backpack on your shoulders.

Activities to do:
Hiking – Tourism and environmental discovery

Level   Medium                   * From  450 $

This tour will take you through beautiful Andean landscapes and introduce you to their inhabitants along the Avenue of the Volcanoes, as well as to the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano, rising to 5,897 meters with its nearly perfect cone — the highest active volcano in the world. It is located about 1 hour and 30 minutes southeast of Quito in the Eastern Cordillera. This hike allows you to explore a remarkable area of Andean páramo and its indigenous communities.

We will begin this trip with the discovery of Cotopaxi National Park at an altitude of 4,800 meters before setting off on an itinerant journey, backpack on your shoulders, traveling from community to community. Plan for sufficient acclimatization in Quito or nearby, as the hikes take place around 4,000 meters above sea level in a magnificent mountain landscape.
Backpack trekking is more demanding and requires greater effort. However, although exposed to changing weather, the constant contact with local communities makes it far richer in encounters, discoveries, and surprises. Nothing is more invigorating and authentic — improvisation is always part of the experience. Come share these powerful moments with us: adventure in its purest form!!!
